Who can be involved?
GAT teams are made up of volunteers from churches who love and have run Alpha. Teams members will have helped run a course or have been on a course and are experienced or new Christians.
Teams should also be comfortable about working with people from other cultures and have the ability to adapt to changing plans. Within each GAT team, members will fill different roles including speakers, administrators and prayer leaders.
How do I start?
• Pray: Prayerfully consider how God might use you.
• Ask Alpha Australia for information about the opportunities to be a part of Global Alpha Training.
• Gather a team of 4-6 people or speak to us if you are keen to join in with an existing trip.
Alpha Australia provides teams with cross-cultural orientation, detailed programs and transcripts for the GAT training event
• Determine the location of your trip. We can match you to churches throughout the world who have asked to receive Alpha training; a major focus is the Asia-Pacific region.
Alternatively, if your church has existing overseas mission partners, we can equip you to train them in running Alpha. Are you going to Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, or India? Download relevant information on these countries here.
Final preparation
• Attend GAT training
• Download your GAT Event Talks & Transcripts and the ‘On the Ground Reflections’ devotional booklet.
• Practise your Event Talks and Sessions.
• Make your travel arrangements, including coordination with the team hosting the event in-country. The Local Event Coordinator - Administrator Checklist will help.
• GO! Therefore go and make disciples of all nations . . . Matthew 28:19
