Alpha for Prisons has been running since 1995. The course, offering attendees a 15 session introduction to the Christian faith and usually run over 10 weeks, is running in the prisons of 40 countries world-wide.

Chaplains and volunteers run the course in the prisons, where it is making a significant impact, changing attitudes and lifestyles of the many thousands of participants.

More than 21,000 men and women have completed an Alpha course in prison in the last seven years. Alpha is currently running in over 30 of Australia’s 83 prisons.

"If I hadn't heard about Jesus when I was facing a 30 year term, I wouldn't be here today" - Grant an ex-offender

“It’s probably the most relevant course you could do in prison. It taps right into your core. And if you get that part of your mind reallyfunctioning properly, you will not recommit”. - John, an offender in aVictorian Prison

"It's my moment of sanity through the week when I come to the Alpha Course. I really appreciate all you do." Robyn, an offender upon recieving his completion certificate in a South Australian prison.
